1) How were One Direction formed and how is this reflected in the music video for History?

One direction were formed on X factor by Simon Cowell this is reflected in the first 10 seconds as it shows us how they were formed. 

2) What is vertical integration?

Vertical integration is when a media company owns different business in the same chain of production and distribution.

3) What is horizontal integration?

 Horizontal integration is a media company ownership of several business of the same value.

4) How has technological convergence changed the way audiences consume music videos?

in 1981 history was made when MTV the first 24 hour music video music channel launched onto our television. this means music was important in that industry because this reflected the beginning of a period of great income so audience and people could buy TV's.

5) As a manufactured band, what influence do Simon Cowell and the record company Syco (part of Sony) have over the content and release strategy of One Direction music videos?

 Music is now distributed quickly on apps such as Spotify , apple music , google play and many other platforms , music is now watched on online apps or concerts where the artists preform.

Audience

1) What is the main One Direction audience - demographics and psychographics?

Demographics : middle-working class, young teens( now/in 2015 they're older, 20s?), predominantly female, music video features mainly white ethnicity however they have an international audience. 
Psychographics: Mainstreamer 

2) What audience pleasures are offered by the music video for History?

Diversion through feeling of nostalgia. Personal relationships-fans were used to contribute to single's chorus( collaboration/example of prosumerism). Clips of when they were younger-nostalgia and audience can relate.

3) Pick out three particular shots, scenes or moments in the video that would particularly appeal to One Direction fans. Why did you choose those moments? 

When they were on tour, behind the scenes of tour and the shots where the fans are included, they have purposely chosen these moments  as it draws in their fans a creates some sort of personal identity and relationship 

4) What is nostalgia and why is it a key audience pleasure for the History music video?

The fans themselves as well as the band members reflect on their long amazing journey they had altogether 

5) How are fans positioned to respond to the video? 


What do the producers want One Direction fans to take from the video? The fans are positioned behind the band members to almost signify how they've all come together and walked the long journey. The producers want the fans to realise
