Denotation&Connotation//WaterAid//TheVampireDiares.💕

Denotation; In this print advert i can see a water aid advert which features a young boy who looks sad as he needs water . there's also a background that looks like a hot village there's a light brown colour behind him which could represent heat and you would see a similar colour scheme at the desert. The white text would represent purity that the water is clear.

Connotation; The typography is important as in this phrase it says "dig toilets not graves" and this could link back to the colour scheme also as the background is a desert kind of colour this could imply that its very hot and "dig graves" could mean they work very hard to get some water that on the way they would die of dehydration or heatstroke. Also his facial expression shows he could be tired and sad as hes not as fortunate as us he hasnt got a tap that runs water. As we know from other adverts that come on tv they have to travel far for some water.

Analysis; The colour pallete is quite dull and miserable. he is wearing blue and the colour blue represents sadness. The producers (water aid) have done this deliberately so that it could target a older and younger audience that may feel sorry for  the boy and other people who struggle with simular issues as we are lucky to be able to have a tap of running water.

Denotation; In film poster i can see three people, one out of three is a girl, she is wearing a deep dark red dress , this is also communicated in the same colour scheme with boys costumes and also the red is shown in the typography. The background includes dull deep dark colours which could represent death and it lets off negativity its a peculiar setting. theres also a date and the channel logo which promotes the shows being advertised

Connotation; The choice of the blacks and red shades both have connotations of death and blood , the red shows blood and if you bleed too much you could drift into darkness, death thats where the dull black shades come in. Also the shows called the vampire diaries and as we know vampires eat people. It also says at the top of the film poster "will they win the war or they become death?" that could infer that people are fighting to live. The typography is also important as theres a blood driping of the first letter of vampire which again suggests death and people getting hurt

Analysis; the colour pallete is deep and dull, the producers have done this deliberatly to appeal people that are into horror or action. The colour scheme is balanced throughout which reveals that the brand likes to interest the audience, This effects the audience by drawing them in to watch the show and to talk about it to others.
